Original Art Collection 11: Bill Sienkiewicz

Here's a strange little Sienkiewicz sketch I picked up a few years ago. Don't ask me what's going on -- a high-heeled Shakespearean bunny smoking a cigar? A gassy super-villain? Take your best guess.
I'll be at C2E2 this weekend with my good friend Kyle Bice at table I-2. I'll be doing sketches and selling prints, originals, and copies of The Dude Abides and The Roberts.

The Corinthian from Sandman in graphite, ink, marker, and Pepsi (While inking this piece Michael accidentally dipped his brush in his soda instead of his ink cup but liked the results -- so do I).

"Going to Chicago in Style" an original from Reader's Digest Aug 1973. A nice piece to have as Saris was from Joliet, Il and probably on more than one occasion took the train into Chicago himself.

My Original Art Collection # 7 Danijel Zezelj

This one is a real beauty. I've been on the hunt for an original Zezelj for a while. This is the only piece I've ever seen for sale. Very sculptural in his use of white gouache. If you haven't seen much of his work check out Luna Park from Vertigo or Small Hands.

Jimi Hendrix Painting

Here are some more in progress pictures of the Jimi piece for the Elbo Room. The last two are pretty much how it ended up but I forgot to take a picture of the entire finished piece.

Oates! Sloth! Funk!

For The Blarg -- my first full illustration done in Manga Studio Pro. It ended up taking me 2 1/2 - 3 hours longer to execute than if I had just inked and scanned it. Still not sure what to think of the program. I found Sloth to be getting a little too Charles Burns for my taste. Well, maybe a poor, poor man's Charles Burns. Whatchoo think of the final outcome?
